Nelson Abducted By Suspected State Agents

Suspected state security agents are being accused by Citizens Coalition for Change of abducting one of their members in front of his family.

According to reports, Nelson Mukwena was taken from his home on Saturday around midnight after attending a press conference that was disrupted earlier in the day.

Nelson had attended a presser held by recently appointed CCC spokesperson Promise Mkwanazi where he fended off two suspected agents that disrupted the presser.

CCC posted on X that they had mobilised a team to search for him and notified the police;

🚨ALERT: We have received a report that our change champion, Nelson Mukwenha, has been abducted from his house in Highfields by suspected state agents. He was targeted for attending a press conference we held yesterday. We have mobilized our team to search for him and also reported the matter to the police. We strongly condemn this unlawful behavior by the regime in Harare and demand his immediate release. #FreeNelsonMukwenha

Makomborero Huruzvishe, a CCC activist also shared the details of the detective responsible for the ‘abduction’:

Please call Detective Sergeant SOLOMON MATUMBURA. After yesterday’s expose he changed his phone number from 0773198989 and he is now using 0712045950.

He led the team that abducted NELSON MUKWENA last midnight.

Amnesty International have also added their voice asking for authorities to help find Nelson.
