Caught On Camera: How Dr Nandipha Made Movie Like Escape In A Porsche

Nandipha Magudumana’s allegations that she was forced to flee the country with rumoured partner Thabo Bester – two days after “abandoning” her children at school – has been shut down by state prosecutors.

The celebrity aesthetics doctor made the brazen claims in a statement as part of her bail application on Tuesday, 29 August, in the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court.

But while the businesswoman claims her killer boyfriend kidnapped her, investigators have rubbished the report with “proof” from CCTV footage.

Nandipha’s affidavit claims she was forced to leave the country with Thabo Bester on 17 March, two days after she dropped off her two daughters at school and did not return.

On 8 April, the couple was arrested in Tanzania.

Her statement read: “I was instructed and commanded by accused five [Thabo Bester] to get into a vehicle and leave the premises to a destination unknown to me at the time. I refused and wanted an explanation, but he forced me into a vehicle.

“I succumbed to the pressure due to the threats he directed at me. I complied with his instructions and was taken out of the country against my will.”

But prosecutors have rubbished Nandipha’s claims and have opposed the bail application.

An investigating officer responded that Bester’s co-accused had been the one to pick him up.

He said: “Through a thorough investigation, I have established that the applicant was the one who drove from Johannesburg to fetch accused five [Thabo Bester] in waZulu-Natal.”

The couple would then flee in Magudumana’s Porsche, of which the state says it has CCTV footage of. According to eNCA, the state will use the footage as evidence against the accused during the trial.

MORE LIES REFUTED?

The prosecution has also disputed several other claims made by Nandipha.

They included:

Her claims that she worked as a medical doctor with the Department of Health, as mentioned in a previous affidavit.

At the time of her arrest, Nandipha was practising unlawfully through her private practice after being suspended in 2021 by the Health Practitioners Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
