Two days later, on September 3, the Avenues area witnessed another brutal killing, as a homeless man was reportedly found dead on a flight of stairs at Nelson Mandela and 7th Street.

Witnesses reported that he had been bludgeoned to death with a large stone, his body concealed under white sacks, and inflicted with stomach bruises and a cut in his privates.

In response to the escalating terror, it had been reported that the police have launched a relentless manhunt to track down the perpetrator.
