Zimbabwe’s ambitious Zim Cyber City project is making waves as it aims to revolutionize Mount Hampden in western Harare into Africa’s first smart city. The project has attracted attention from international cricket stars, local pension funds, and the Zimbabwean diaspora.
Sikandar Raza, the renowned cricket sensation, has become the inaugural resident of Zim Cyber City after acquiring a luxurious apartment. Speaking about his decision, Raza expressed his excitement to be a part of this groundbreaking initiative, which promises to redefine Zimbabwe’s future. He emphasized that Zim Cyber City is not just about luxury living but also about fostering a vibrant and innovative community in the country.
Raza believes in the project’s potential to elevate Zimbabwe’s profile and attract global attention. He sees Zim Cyber City as a symbol of progress and limitless possibilities for the nation’s technological and economic growth. He is thrilled to witness the transformation and growth of the city in the years to come, expressing his commitment to making history and bringing prosperity to Zimbabwe.
The visionary project, backed by Mulk Holdings International and chaired by Mr. Nawab Shaji Ul Mulk, is making significant strides towards realization. The official commencement of property sales marked a pivotal moment, unveiling plans for the initial phase, which includes the construction of 50 villa units out of a total of 233. The first phase is expected to be completed within 18 to 24 months.
Mulk emphasized the project’s unique model in Africa, with Zim Cyber City’s special economic zone status allowing duty-free imports for residents, reducing the need to travel to Dubai for shopping. The city also holds tourism potential, boasting cutting-edge infrastructure and world-class amenities.
As part of the Special Economic Zone program, Zim Cyber City reflects the government’s commitment to sustainable growth and attracting investments. It will provide streamlined clearance for blockchain and digital asset licenses, bank accounts, and high-end residential living for residents and entities within the community. Security is a priority, with advanced surveillance technology connected to local law enforcement authorities to ensure maximum safety.
Sikandar Raza’s purchase of an apartment in Zim Cyber City signifies the project’s significance and the broad interest it has garnered from diverse investors and prominent figures. Beyond its economic contributions, the project aims to enhance Zimbabwe’s aesthetic appeal and overall allure. With a projected completion timeline of four years, Zim Cyber City is set to become a fully functional society with shopping malls, towering structures, and water features, shaping the future of the nation.
