He spent five years at Amakhosi, as Kaizer Chiefs is known by its legion of fans, after signing from Mamelodi Sundowns at the start of the 2018/19 season. The Zimbabwean made over 100 appearances, scoring 24 goals, and providing 29 assists.

Following his departure from Kaizer Chiefs, Billiat has attracted interest from various clubs, including Al Wahda in the UAE, led by his former coach Pitso Mosimane. Additionally, he has been linked with a potential move to Cape Town City. The club’s chairman, John Commitis, shed light on the delay in finalising the deal.

He said that they have not been in touch with Khama Billiat but were very clear with him regarding what they can offer. Commitis emphasized that they are waiting for Billiat to make a decision about his future in football without any pressure from their end.

“I’ve not had contact with Khama [Billiat], we were very honest with him and waiting for him to make a decision on his future in where he would like to see himself,” said Comitis on Metro FM.

Commitis also mentioned that he believes Billiat is exploring options in the Middle East for a potentially lucrative deal. He revealed that Lebo Manyama, a player from their team, had a conversation with Billiat, expressing interest in having him on their team.

“I think he’s still in the efforts to try and find something in the Middle East which would be rather lucrative for him. So we sit and wait for his response, at this point that’s where we’ve left it. Lebo Manyama had a conversation with him and who wouldn’t want to have Khama in his team?” asked the chairman.

As of now, it remains uncertain whether Billiat will join Cape Town City. Meanwhile, Cape Town City is performing well, with a four-game winning streak, currently securing the fourth position on the league table.
