It appears that Thuli Phongolo and DJ Maphorisa’s musical romance has rekindled. Was it never released?
On Sunday, November 12, the Mnike hitmaker, whose real name is Themba Sonnyboy Sekowe, posted what looks to be a mirror image of the former Generations: The Legacy actress on his Instagram stories.
In the picture, Thuli is seen standing in the centre of a bedroom, facing the mirror to display her new Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), a cosmetic procedure in which a surgeon transfers fat to a patient’s buttocks from one or more body parts.
The image was first shared by Thuli on her Instagram stories, before Maphorisa also shared the same one alongside his hit song Bopha with Mellow & Sleazy, Felo Le Tee and Young Stunna.
DJ Maphorisa’s post comes almost three months after his assault case was withdrawn.
The producer and BlaqBoy Music record label boss was arrested in May this year for allegedly assaulting Thuli at her Sandton home.

After his first court appearance, a day after his arrest, he was granted R4 000 bail. The former Rockville actress subsequently filed a withdrawal statement on the same day. However, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) decided to continue with the case.
“We can confirm that the case against DJ Maphorisa was withdrawn after he lodged representations with the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions which were successful. He lodged representations, and upon studying them we then took a decision to withdraw [the charges].
“Remember that the complainant in the matter filed a withdrawal statement. So that meant we had to look into any other areas that we had to prove our case. Upon such consideration, the office of the director of prosecutions took a decision to withdraw the case,” NPA spokesperson, Phindi Mjonondwane said.

During the investigation, the couple issued a statement saying they wanted to deal with the matter privately.
“The matter has received mixed public attention, causing a great deal of emotional stress on both parties involved. It is on this basis that the parties have elected to resolve this matter privately through their respective management and legal teams. Consequently, Phongolo has since withdrawn the charges laid against Sekowe,” read the statement in part.
Although this was the case, many fans were under the impression that Thuli and Maphorisa broke up – as sources told Zimoja that he had repossessed the cars he bought for her.
