Mohale celebrates Moja Love firing head of channel Bokani Moyo

Certain sections of South Africa are celebrating the axing of Moja Love Head of Channel, Bokani Moyo.

After what has been a dramatic 2023 for local television channel, Moja Love, things have shaken up even further. Bokani Moyo, who has served as Head of Channel for the past six years since 2017, was shockingly ousted from the brand in a sudden shakeup. The news was delivered via press statement and has been circulating across the country since.

It has been a tumultuous year for DSTV channel, Moja Love. Two of its presenters, Jub Jub and Xolani Khumalo are facing criminal investigations for separate cases, leaving a bad mark on the shows they present. Meanwhile, Head of Channel, Bokani Moyo has faced criticism for how the channel has not only the controversies off-screen but the content on it too.

For many, it came as no surprise when the decision to axe Moyo was reported on the 19th of December. Entertainment commentator, Phil Mphela broke the news on X where he posted:

The DStv channel has officially parted ways with their Head Of Channel, Bokani Moyo.

While a lot of viewers were surprised by the timing of the news, many other neutrals were not surprised to see Bokani Moyo exit Moja Love. Influencer and socialite, Mohale Motaung wrote on his page, “When bad things happen to bad people”.

Many others were in agreement with Mohale and were happy to see Bokani Moyo depart. At the time of writing, the channel had not released a statement to address the matter.
