Makhadzi’s alleged lover sues Musa Khawula

Controversial entertainment blogger Musa Khawula closed 2023 with a lawsuit from award-winning and popular singer Makhadzi’s alleged boyfriend Shumani “Masala” Lawrence Mulaudzi.

Mulaudzi is suing for defamation of character after he was labelled a “dangerous thug” by Khawula on X. Khawula, who has faced a litany of lawsuits from a couple of celebrities since he started his blog, now faces a lawsuit from someone not in the media and showbiz space in Mulaudzi.

Khawula seemed to have crossed the line by associating Mulaudzi with one of Thohoyandou’s gangs called Tshisole. On December 29, Khawula wrote on his blog:

“Meet Makhadzi’s dangerous thug boyfriend, Masala Mulaudzi. Masala Mulaudzi is a member of a thug group called Tshisole in Venda. The Tshisole thugs own a place called Jerusalem. Last week, one of the Tshisole thugs called Target was shot and killed while in a meeting.”

This did not go down well with Mulaudzi who immediately consulted his lawyers to sue Khawula after he saw the post.

The letter of demand, written “extremely urgent”, which is dated 30 December 2023, was also served to Khawula on the same date.”It is our client’s instruction that on or about the 29th December 2023, at approximately 14:43, on X (formerly Twitter), you endeavoured to intentionally and lawfully broadcast and publish misleading and defamatory statements concerning our client.

“You caused to publish defamatory statements,” Not only did Mulaudzi demand that Khawula must apologise within 48 hours, but he also opened a criminal case against him. The criminal case was opened at Camps Bay police station in Cape Town.
