Bad News for Zimbabweans at Beitbridge Border Amidst Calls for Tightened Security
Patriotic Alliance Calls for Increased Border Security at Beitbridge, Conducts Unsanctioned Patrols.
The Patriotic Alliance (PA) has called for increased border security at Beitbridge after conducting unsanctioned patrols at the South Africa-Zimbabwe border.
PA members were seen carrying guns and instructing people from Zimbabwe not to cross the border illegally.
The Border Management Authority (BMA) commissioner, Dr Mike Masiapato, stated that the BMA is the only entity allowed to enforce the law at the country’s ports of entry, but did not explicitly say whether the PA’s actions were illegal.
