Gospel Star Kenny Makweng Suffers Stroke, Family Demands Privacy
The family of a ZCC gospel star, Kenny Makweng, has requested privacy following his hospitalisation. Makweng suffered a stroke last week and is said to have brain complications and is not responding to treatment.

In a statement issued by Kennymak Productions? Advocate MJ Koma and Lawrence Lesiba Mashiatshidi on behalf of the Makweng family and Kennymak Production, the family said Kenny was in a state where he can only be visited by the family.
“The Makweng family has asked Kennymak Productions to announce on their behalf that they are aware that Dr Kenny Makweng was a brother and a friend to all and he was also close to lots of people. The family is also aware and understands that lots of people are highly affected after hearing that Makweng is in hospital,” read the statement.
The statement further read,
“The family also understands that a lot of people would like to give him support by paying him a visit in hospital and that was going to be accepted if he was in a state of being visited by more people. At the moment Dr Kenny Makweng is in a state where only family members are allowed to see him and the public?s cooperation will mean a lot to the family”
They asked for prayers adding that when Kenny is in a better state “people will be given authority to see him as much as they wish”.
The family further said the members of the public including his friends will be informed about the visit as soon as there are developments.
His industry colleagues including kwaito legend and activist Eugene Mthethwa and poet Mzwakhe Mbuli also urged people to pray for him on social media.
