The family of late playwright and musician Mbongeni Ngema has rejected claims made by Yolanda “Wanda” Moncho that she is his second wife.
Ngema was publicly married to Nompumelelo Gumede-Ngema, and he died in a car crash on December 27.
Moncho claimed to be his second wife and stated that she was pregnant with his child.
However, Ngema’s brother, Nhlanhla Ngema, said the family was unaware of any marriage to Moncho and was focused on the funeral.
The family will address other matters after the funeral.
Mbongeni Ngema, a South African writer, director, composer, and choreographer, died on December 27, 2023. Ngema was died in a vehicle accident in a rural community in South Africa’s Eastern Cape province, according to his relatives. He was 68.
