“I no longer have anything to do with CCC”: Chamisa quits

Opposition politician Nelson Chamisa announces his immediate disassociation from CCC, emphasizing focus on Zimbabwe, urging unity for total freedom and true change, promising updates on the next steps, and expressing gratitude for support.

This comes a few days after Harare Live reported that he was forming a new party.

Taking to X, (formerly Twitter), Chamisa said he is focusing on becoming the next president of Zimbabwe and has nothing to do with CCC.

FELLOW CITIZENS, This is to officially, and under my hand, inform you, that, with immediate effect, I no longer have anything to do with CCC.

My focus remains fully on Zimbabwe, asserting your victory, honoring the citizens mandate and God’s calling to provide leadership.

There are fresh things we need to do. Let’s all work together for total freedom, true change and wholistic transformation for our beloved country. Giving up or giving in is not an option. Nothing comes without tenacity and resilience.

Fellow citizens, you will be kept posted on the next steps.

Thank you all for the support and continued prayers as we get ready for the NEW. Let us embrace the opportunities that lie ahead.

Chamisa’s frustrations stem from continued recalls from parliament and councils of his candidates by the self-imposed Secretary General Sengezo Tshabangu.

He also highlighted the irregularities in last year’s elections citing the uneven playing field exhibited by ZANU PF and ZEC.

He further stated the need to pursue dialogue as a way of bringing unity to Zimbabwe.
