Babes Wodumo now dating Zuma a year after Mampintsha’s death

Gqom sensation Babes Wodumo has found new love a year after losing her husband who succumbed to a stroke.

Babes Wodumo is reportedly in a relationship with Amapiano artist Sabelo Zuma, known as Zuma in the industry. The couple has been spotted together at various events and seems to be going strong.

Babes Wodumo, whose real name is Bongekile Simelane, rose to fame with her hit song “Wololo” in 2016 and was married to Mandla ‘Mampintsha’ Maphumulo until his passing in December 2022.

Zuma, on the other hand, is relatively new to the scene but has quickly gained a following with his unique blend of Amapiano and traditional Zulu music.

He recently released his debut album, “Lazaro,” featuring collaborations with several other popular artists. The couple first sparked rumors of a romance late last year when they were spotted together at a music festival.

Since then, they have been seen together at several events and have even attended parties together. According to another source, the pair love each other, and Zuma has been supporting Babes Wodumo to revive her career.

Although some people within their circle criticized them for their age difference, they apparently couldn’t care less. Babes Wodumo is 28 while her lover is 25 years old.

It is alleged that she wanted to complete a full year of mourning and she now is ready to move on.

“She is young and is allowed to move on with her life. She has done her part and mourned her husband for a year,” adds the source.

The couple seems to be focusing on their love for each other. They have not yet commented on the criticism and continue to share glimpses of their relationship with those close to them.

Babes and Zuma could not be reached for comment. Babes’ manager Nonduh Simelane, who is her sister, declined to comment.
