Cassper Nyovest opens up: “The devil had me”

South African musician Cassper Nyovest said the devil had him when he finally spoke about his religious life on 6 February.

Cassper had been one of the most talented hip-hop artists in the country. Despite all he did, he still claimed to be a Christian, but now he has opened up, telling the truth. Over the past few months, Cassper had been sharing bible verses and Christian quotes but never spoke in detail about what changed his life.

The Tito Mboweni hitmaker spoke much about his life growing up and how much his guardians believed in God. However, he went on to say that he grew up thinking he knew God but did not. He went on to speak much about his spiritual journey from childhood until he encountered God.

One of Cassper’s statements left many fans emotional, believing that his life had changed for the good.

“I thought I knew God….but the devil had me.”

Speaking about this spiritual journey, Cassper spoke about some of his bad habits. He openly said that he was addicted to sex, and he could try to explain and defend his actions. Cassper also said he had a big ego, thinking he was better than everyone.

With all these deeds he explained, he still believed that he was a good person. In the end, Cassper claimed that if he had not encountered God at a personal level, he was heading to hell.

Many fans also reflected on their lives after Cassper Nyovest opened up about his spiritual journey, saying the devil had him. Candice Modiselle even believed that Cassper’s confession would change generations.
