Former Orlando Pirates Star Kudakwashe Mahachi Joins Zim Club

Despite his rumored transfer move to Harare giants Dynamos, former Orlando Pirates star Kudakwashe Mahachi has joined Manica Diamonds FC ahead of the Zimbabwean Castle Larger Premier League.

Mahachi joins the Zimbabwean outfit after being released by West African giants and Ghanaian Premier League champions Medeama. He was released just five months into his one-year contract.

Confirmed reports have it that the former DStv Premier League star signed a two-year contract with Manica Diamonds. After disastrous stints in South Africa and Ghana, the 30-year-old talisman hopes to revive his career in Zimbabwe.

Kudakwashe Mahachi’s deal with Manica Diamonds runs until December 2025. The deal was sealed over the weekend. He returns to the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League after ten years. Rumour mill has it that he joins the list of the highest-paid Castle Larger Premier Soccer league stars.

Kudakwashe Mahachi is the second Zimbabwean star to return home after Khama Billiat. The former Kaizer Chiefs star joined Yadah FC after failing to secure a transfer move he hoped for in the DStv Premier League.

Confirmed reports have it that Billiat is now the highest-paid star playing in Zimbabwe, with a base salary of R95 000.

He had his shot fame while playing for Highlanders Academy before joining Bantu Rovers in Zimbabwe. Kudakwashe Mahachi went on to join Bulawayo giants Highlanders before switching the floor to Mamelodi Sundowns, who came knocking in 2014.

He joined Golden Arrows from Sundowns before settling for Soweto Giants Orlando Pirates. Kudakwashe Mahachi joined SuperSport from Orlando Pirates. His court woes took a toll on his SuperSport United stint.

In 2023, he joined Ghanaian Premier League champions Medeama. However, the club released him five months into his one-year deal.
