Oscar Pambuka speaks following release from prison

Former ZBC news reporter Oscar Pambuka speaks out for the first time after being released from Chikurubi Maximum Prison.

 

Oscar Pambuka, who had served a thirty-month sentence for defrauding Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC), a subsidiary of ZESA, in a Public Relations deal worth over US$12,000, is now a free man.

His release from prison comes after his lawyer, Panashe Sagwete, successfully appealed his sentence and conviction at the High Court early this month.

Oscar Pambuka Expresses Gratitude and Declares ‘Game On’ After Prison Release

Posting to his Facebook account for the first time since his arrest,  Oscar Pambuka shared an old picture of himself during his tenure as a news anchor on ZBC. Captioning, the picture, Oscar Pambuka expressed gratitude to God for the gift of life and for restoring his life.

With a clear focus on life after his prison sentence, Pambuka declared that it was now ‘game on’ and expressed readiness for the next chapter.

Oscar Pambuka’s return from prison has been met with a warm reception on social media, as users welcomed him back. Many netizens have urged him to refrain from committing any further crimes.
