Victoria Falls man kills girlfriend, stashes body for two days

Residents of Victoria Falls are in disbelief after learning that a man used a shoelace to strangle his lover and kept her body in his house for two days.

The 28-year-old Victoria Falls resident Bothwell Nkomo is embroiled in a terrifying court case related to his claimed suicide of his girlfriend, Amanda Dube.

The prosecution claims that Nkomo and Dube got into a violent fight on March 18, 2024, which ended fatally. According to reports, Nkomo used a shoelace to strangle Dube during the confrontation, which is what finally led to her death.

Instead of reporting the incident to the authorities, Nkomo shockingly chose to conceal Dube’s body within his residence for a chilling span of two days. It was only when a concerned individual, seeking out Dube, stumbled upon the grisly scene that the matter came to light.

According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe, the witness was looking for Amanda Dube. After going to the accused’s place in search of the deceased, they came upon the body in a gruesome discovery.

The witness immediately alerted the authorities, prompting Nkomo’s arrest and the subsequent recovery of Dube’s remains, which had already begun to decompose.

Following his apprehension, Nkomo appeared in court yesterday for his preliminary hearing. He has been remanded in custody until April 4, awaiting further legal proceedings.
