‘Khama Billiat was my worst nightmare’: Kaizer Chiefs legend

Kaizer Chiefs legend Morgan Gould has named Khama Billiat as his worst nightmare during his playing days.

Gould retired not so long ago and ventured into coaching, but he still holds Billiat in high esteem for the way he used to mesmerise him while at Mamelodi Sundowns.

In an interview with Arena Sports Show, Gould said he would literally fast whenever he was going to face Billiat.

Gould faced Billiat with several teams, namely SuperSport United, Chiefs, Stellenbosch FC and Sekhukhune United.

The two would then become teammates for a short period of time at Chiefs between 2018 and 2019 as Gould left Naturena for SuperSport United.

Now, Gould explained why it became difficult for him to deal with Billiat while he was at Sundowns, and there was a Pitso Mosimane factor.

KAIZER CHIEFS LEGEND GOULD USED TO FAST FOR BILLIAT

“Billiat at Sundowns… My word! I would fast for Billiat. I used to make sure that I fast because that kid is something else,” said Gou.

“He’s strong, he’s quick, he’s intelligent, he can jump… he had everything, and he was playing for Sundowns at that point, and Sundowns were about to do what they are doing now.

“And they had our father there (Pitso Mosimane).”

“My dad and Pitso. So, my dad was older than Pitso. And Pitso played for the same team that my dad played in in the township.

“So, Pitso knew me and he studied me enough to know that I kick. So, he had studied me so much that he’d give Billiat information about me yo say, ‘do this, he doesn’t know how to do this.”

“So, I knew from the back of my head that I’ve got Pitso, I’ve got Billiat. He’s already gotten information about me. On his own, he’s a talented player. I’ve already got two people to work against. My work is cut out. So, that whole week, I would fast on something,” added Gould.

WHERE IS BILLIAT NOW?

Billiat recently left South Africa for a return to Zimbabwe after struggling to get a team locally following his departure from Chiefs in June 2023.

He’s currently playing for Yadah Stars in the Zimbabwean Premier League where he’s reported to be the league’s highest paid player.
