Breaking: Malawi Vice President, 9 Others Found Dead In Plane Wreckage

Malawi is mourning the loss of 10 lives after the wreckage of a Dornier 228 military plane, carrying Vice President Saulos Chilima and former first lady Shanil Dzimbiri, was discovered in the Chikangawa Forest. The plane had disappeared on Monday morning during its 45-minute journey from the capital city of Lilongwe to Mzuzu.

Authorities confirmed that all 10 passengers on board, including the vice president, had tragically lost their lives. The aircraft had reportedly been advised by air traffic controllers against landing at Mzuzu’s airport due to adverse weather conditions and poor visibility.

The small, propeller-driven plane, operated by the Malawian armed forces, lost contact with air traffic control and vanished from radar with seven passengers and three military crew members on board.
