12 pupils injured after train crashes into school bus
Twelve students were injured on Wednesday morning at the Wilton Level Crossing in Mutare when a train collided with their school bus.
According to the National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ), their preliminary investigations indicated that the driver of the Versatile Academy school bus failed to adhere to level crossing regulations and attempted to cross ahead of the approaching train, leading to the unfortunate incident.
“The accident is a stark reminder to all drivers to exercise extreme caution and strictly adhere to road rules at level crossings,” the NRZ added.
