Robbers get away with $50k from Aspindale Pick n Pay

On Tuesday, the Aspindale Pick n Pay supermarket fell victim to a daring robbery, resulting in the loss of US$50,000.

The perpetrators entered the premises by cutting through the roofing sheets and gaining access to the CCTV monitoring room, where they disabled the surveillance monitors.

Subsequently, they breached the safe room by cutting off two locks with grinders and bolted with the stolen cash.

A security firm responsible for safeguarding the premises responded to a security alert alarm during the incident.

Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, the Harare provincial police spokesperson, has officially confirmed the details of the case.

“Police are investigating an armed robbery case that took place at a supermarket in Aspindale,” said Insp Chakanza.
