John Cena retires from WWE wrestling

After a remarkable 23-year career entertaining fans in the WWE, John Cena announced his retirement from in-ring competition.

His surprise appearance at WWE’s Money in the Bank event in Toronto on Saturday left fans both shocked and reflective as they bid farewell to a legend in the wrestling world.

“Why am I here? Tonight, I officially announce my retirement from the WWE,” he said.

John Cena has confirmed that he will be taking part in a number of exciting wrestling events next year.

Fans can look forward to seeing him on Monday Night Raw on Netflix, as well as at the 2025 Royal Rumble and 2025 Elimination Chamber.

Additionally, Cena announced that his final WrestleMania appearance will take place in Las Vegas in 2025.

“Thank you so much for letting me play in the house that you built for so many years,” he said.

WWE shared a video of Cena’s retirement announcement on X, formerly known as Twitter.

In a press conference, Cena said a farewell tour will start next January and run through December.

John Cena signed with WWE in 2001.
