A religious leader in Kuwadzana Harare, Madzibaba Ekedi Mawodzwa, was reportedly unmasked by a nephew he recently killed for ritual purposes after he possessed a member of his family and started revealing how he had been murdered by him.
Madzibaba Ekedi, who has been hauled before Chief Makope’s traditional court in Zambara Village, Chiweshe, has also reportedly killed 11 of his relatives in a strange quest for spiritual power.
According to the H-Metro newspaper, Madzibaba Ekedi reportedly waged a reign of terror with the help of seven other men who have reportedly since gone into hiding after Chief Marope ruled that police needed to be involved in the case as it dealt with murder.

Madzibaba Ekedi’s dastardly deed was reportedly brought to light when a nephew he had killed possessed a member of his family and started revealing how he had been murdered.
“My spirit is not at rest, I want my blood back,” the spirit reportedly said. “He tied me and forced me to drink some juju from a bottle.”
Madzibaba’s gang of seven had allegedly tied up his nephew at his shrine in Kuwadzana before proceeding to mutilate him. Madzibaba allegedly cut off a portion of his buttocks, collected his blood in a bottle and then proceeded to perform rituals with it.
In his defence, the spiritual leader said her was only trying to help his nephew.
“I did not kill him, but rather I was helping him to get better because he was sick,” he said.
