The ZRP confirmed that four people were killed and dozens injured in an accident on the Harare-Mutare route today.
The tragic road traffic event occurred on the Harare-Mutare highway near Zimre Park, resulting in the loss of four lives. The fatal accident occurred when a commuter omnibus on its way to Rusape experienced a tyre burst and lost control.
Eyewitnesses said that the truck toppled twice before coming to a stop on its side. An audio recording of a guy who witnessed the sad incident leaked, in which he described how the vehicle went off the road and crashed before landing on its side. Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) verified that the accident occurred at approximately 1:30 PM near the Sunway City turn-off.
Pictures of the devastating crash circulated all over social media before an official report was made. Lifeless bodies can be seen on the road beside the wreckage that the vehicle had turned into.
The ZRP reported that four individuals perished at the scene of the crash, while ten others sustained injuries. The vehicle involved was a Toyota Hiace Kombi, which was transporting 18 passengers when it veered off the road, overturned, and eventually landed on its wheels.

The injured victims have been taken to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals for medical treatment. Names of the victims who lost their lives will also be shared by the police as soon as their families are notified.
