Defence Minister Oppah Muchinguri’s daugther arrest: Here is why

According to Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) sources, Tanya Rushesha, Defence Minister Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri’s 35-year-old daughter, was arrested on Friday.
The news of Tanya Rushesha’s arrest went swiftly on social media, generating a commotion as many speculated on the causes.

Why Muchinguri’s daughter was arrested
It has now been revealed that detectives from the police commercial crimes unit arrested Tanya Rozina Rushesha after three individuals accused her of scamming them. According to a ZRP source who spoke to ZimLive, Rushesha approached business owners, claiming to sell bulk fuel. The business owners placed large orders and paid her, but she failed to deliver the fuel.
“She approached these business owners saying she sells bulk fuel and they placed large orders after giving her money. She has failed to deliver,” a ZRP source said.
When contacted for comment, ZRP spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said he had not yet received information about the arrest.
Nyathi said:
“I’m yet to receive any information.”
Attempts to reach the Defense Minister for a statement were unsuccessful, as she was returning from an official trip to Zambia at the time.
This is not the first time the child of a senior government official has faced legal troubles this year. In May, Neville Mutsvangwa, the son of Women’s Affairs Minister Monica Mutsvangwa, was arrested on charges of illegal currency dealing. His mother claimed the arrest was “politically motivated.”
