Hillary Makaya taken as second wife for US$40k lobola

Hillary Makaya is finally off the market after wealthy Andrew Manongore allegedly paid US$40,000 as a bride price for the belle.

Makaya’s wedding was the focus of social media this weekend after a photo from the event leaked and circulated on many platforms.

Makaya celebrated her traditional marriage with video recordings shared on social media. In one, she was heard exclaiming ‘vamama’, which some social commentators deemed a disrespectful manner to commemorate her recent marriage.

The image included a stack of crisp US$100 notes on a dish and was labeled “40k USD cash on paspot (lobola).”

In a post on Instagram, Hillary Makaya’s sister Yollanda said the marriage was a milestone for their family. She signed off the message with an insult of her own.

“S/O to everybody who congratulated us, this was a huge breakthrough for our family. Chakanaka chakanaka. The rest of you can suck my d*ck…respectfully,” she wrote.

The colourful business has been accused of making claims that he is related to the President of Zimbabwe.

This allegation emerged after skirmishes at a local hotel between the businessman and the pair of Passion Java and Mike Chimombe, who allegedly led a group of unidentified people to attack Manongore.

“The mistake these people are making is to think that I started knowing ED when he became President. I grew up and worked in the Midlands where he looked after me.

“I have no reason to claim that he is my father because he is everything to me. He would pay my rent when I moved to Chitungwiza and help me start my business. He groomed me in business and taught me the value of hard work.

“This is someone who paid my rentals and bought my groceries. He is more than a father to me. He is my godfather. This is the work of my enemies and they, wanted US$80 000 from me which I refused to part with” he said.
