Veteran South African rapper, Da Les, aka “The North God” has been hospitalized after suffering a stroke.
Da Les, whose real name is Leslie Jonathan Mampe Jr, missed his birthday party and posted an apology on Instagram on Friday saying that “due to unfortunate circumstances he was not able to attend”.
His family released a statement regarding his condition saying; “The family of the renowned South African musician Da Les is deeply saddened to inform the public that he suffered a stroke at home on Friday, 26 July 2024 and has been hospitalised.

While he is in stable condition, this remains a challenging time for his loved ones, and his family call on the public to keep him in their thoughts and prayers as they navigate this difficult period.
His family have asked for donations for his medical bills according to a note sent out to Da L.E.S’s friends by his mom, Priscilla Mampe.
