Snoop Dog making US$500k/day for cheering Team US at the Paris olympics
Reports have been circulating that the renowned American rapper Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, famously known as Snoop Dogg, is purportedly commanding an impressive $500,000 (R9.2 million) daily appearance fee at the grand stage of the Paris Olympics, where he is exuberantly supporting Team America.
This substantial figure has drawn significant attention, sparking discussions about the immense earning potential of high-profile celebrity endorsements and public appearances.
According to Complex, the speculation started when an X user @henrylmcnamara tweeted that an NBC exec claimed the rapper gets paid $ 500,000 a day.

The publication also reported that sports business reporter Darren Rovell then quote-tweeted the post also speculating that the figure sounds about right, as he thought it would be around $10 million (R185 million).
“Sounds about right. Someone asked me how much Snoop was making. First number that came to mind was $10 million,” he wrote.

However, the Olympics have not yet confirmed that this is in fact the amount the rapper is making.
SNOOP DOGG JOINS THE TORCH RELAY CEREMONY
Snoop Dogg has also taken on the role of being a special NBC Olympics correspondent. He was also the torchbearer during the opening ceremony. The Gin and Juice hitmaker carried the Olympic flame through the streets of Saint-Denis – a suburb in Northern Paris.
Snoop Dogg was joined by French actress Laetitia Casta and French rapper MC Solaar, along with others. This marked the 67th leg of the flame’s journey. The rapper spoke about his experience in a post-ceremony interview with Mike Tirico of NBC Sports.
“I felt like Muhammad Ali…I found out that when you hold the torch, you’re a peace messenger,” he said.
“I was waving, shaking hands, kissing the babies — doing what I do, you understand me? Putting my foot in the pavement, letting the people know that we’re here. We’re here for peace, love, unity and great sportsmanship,” he continued.
