Yesterday, tragic events unfolded in Zimbabwe as two separate road accidents in Masvingo and Gokwe resulted in the loss of 13 lives and left dozens more injured.
The first accident took place along the Masvingo-Zano road, where a bus carrying 105 passengers from Masvingo to Topora overturned, leading to the deaths of seven individuals and causing injuries to 99 others.
The bus, identified as the Chikozho bus, tragically failed to navigate a steep gradient, resulting in a devastating accident.
The injured individuals were promptly taken to Mogenster and Masvingo General Hospitals for urgent medical treatment.

In the second incident, a head-on collision on the Gokwe-Siabuwa road claimed the lives of six people. This collision involved a Nissan Sulphy and a Nissan AD van, with three victims from each vehicle tragically losing their lives at the scene.
Eight other individuals sustained injuries and were swiftly transported to Gokwe General Hospital for immediate medical attention.
Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the spokesperson for the Zimbabwe Republic Police, confirmed both accidents. In light of these distressing events, he offered heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased individuals and stressed the importance of drivers exercising utmost caution on the roads.
