Peter Obi reunites P-Square brothers

Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in recently held Nigeria’s general elections, held a meeting with Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy from the defunct music group P-Square, and his elder brother Jude Okoye.

This meeting occurred following the latest publicized split between Paul and his twin brother, Peter, also known as Mr P.

Although specific details from the meeting have not been disclosed, Paul shared photos and a video of the visit on his social media platform on Tuesday. He expressed gratitude to Peter Obi with the caption, “Thank you very much and God bless you sir P.O #yourexcelency.”

The Okoye brothers have been in the spotlight due to their recent public disagreements, which have spilled over onto social media. Paul’s claim during an interview with City FM, Lagos, that he had written and performed 99% of P-Square’s songs, led to Peter expressing his disappointment and hurt over Paul’s constant discrediting of his contributions to the group.

In an open letter on Monday, Mr P admitted that they have failed their fans.

He accused his brother of disrespecting his talent, wife and family.

He claimed that Rudeboy had been granting interviews where he takes sole credit for P-Square’s success, including songwriting and singing

Daily Trust reports that the feud between Paul and Peter began around 2017 and resulted in their split, with each pursuing a solo career.

The duo reunited in November 2021.

During the 2023 general elections, the P-Square brothers were vocal supporters of Obi
