Canadian rapper Drake has lost a $450,000 bet after South Africa’s Dricus du Plessis defended his middleweight championship against Adesanya in the UFC 305 main event held on Sunday.
The rapper, estimated to be worth $250 million, has become almost as well-known for his high-stakes gambling as he is for his chart-topping music. This time he has lost once again following Adesanya’s defeat.
“Always with Izzy,” wrote Drake, unfortunately, he did not make it.

Dricus du Plessis came into this UFC fight with the whole of South Africa behind him. At the same time, Springbok stars Siya Kolisi and Eben Etzebeth walked him to the Octagon during a memorable entrance walk that had the South African national anthem playing in the background.
After three rounds of intense action, it appeared that Adesanya was getting on top in the fight, but then came a moment of magic from Du Plessis.
The 30-year-old landed a series of devastating punches before brilliantly locking in a chokehold, leading Adesanya to tap out, consigning himself to defeat by submission quickly.
