Zimbabwean comedian Learnmore Jonasi may become the first comedian to win the America’s Got Talent show after an impressive performance last night.
He is one of the 10 finalists contending for the $1 million prize money.
28 year old Jonasi got a standing ovation from all the judges and all the audience when he finished his set.
The reviews he got from the judges including, Simon Cowell, marks a significant pointer to a possible win.

Learnmore Jonasi is from a small village in Zimbabwe. He was once featured on Comedy Central and has won multiple awards including the Steve Harvey Spotlight Award. One of his routines went viral on TikTok.
Before his performance, Learnmore confessed his ambition to be like Terry Crews ever since he saw the movie White Chicks with his parents while he was growing up and how he loved his physical humour and as such Crews was his hero. Learnmore also confessed that he used to watch AGT with his grandmother who would always tell him that she could see him performing on the show and how he learnt English through watching comedy with his grandfather.Learnmore Jonasi’s audition in Episode 1901 consisted of performing a stand-up routine comparing his former life in Zimbabwe to that of the United States. Impressed with his performance, Terry Crews hit the Golden Buzzer, sending him directly to the live shows.Learnmore Jonasi’s Quarterfinal performance in Episode 1913 consisted of performing a stand-up comedy routine about the excitement of getting his green card, gluten allergies, anxiety, his sexuality, how complicated American food is when compared to Zimbabwean food and how Zimbabwean names have meanings to them. Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara and Simon Cowell all gave him standing ovations. He received enough votes to enter the top 5 of the night in Episode 1914 instead of Jelly Boy the Clown, and advanced to the Semifinals along with Reid Wilson and Kelsey Jane instead of Maya Neelakantan and Journey.Learnmore Jonasi’s Semifinal performance in Episode 1917 consisted of performing a stand-up comedy routine about learning American culture through watching movies and the difference between American and African dogs.
