A married man from Mabhungu Village, Chiwundura, Midlands Province, 31 years old, has been sentenced to five years in prison for having an abortion on his sister (14)
Judge Beaulity Dube of the Gweru provincial court found the guy guilty of incest after he pleaded guilty on his own behalf; the minor’s identity has been withheld for protection.
Following the magistrate’s decision to suspend him for one year on the condition of good behaviour, he will now serve another four years.
According to the evidence presented, the accused had multiple instances of consensual s@xual relations with his sister from August to December of last year, which led to the girl becoming pregnant.

The situation was brought to light when the girl’s mother observed her daughter’s expanding belly and thought that she was pregnant.
After she brought the girl to the Johane Masowe Church, the news of her pregnancy was officially announced.
Police were notified, and they made arrangements for a medical checkup at Gweru Provincial Hospital, which verified the pregnancy.
The criminal asserted that his sister allured him with her provocative attire; his wife is also expecting a child.
According to him, his sister would likewise insist on riding shotgun or sitting on his lap.
