A Kwekwe court handed down severe sentences to five men convicted of murder in two separate cases.
Four members of the Ncube family and their neighbor were sentenced to life imprisonment for the brutal 2022 murder of Isabel Ndlovu in Silobela. The court heard they attacked Ndlovu with knives, logs, and bottles, resulting in his death.
In a separate case, Jeremiah Donhora and Kudakwashe Ncube were sentenced to 20 years in prison for the 2017 murder of Bernard Canaan Ngulube. The court found that the men, along with a fugitive accomplice, accused Ngulube of theft and subjected him to severe violence, including scalding with boiling water. Ngulube succumbed to his injuries five days later.
The court deemed both crimes callous and premeditated, justifying the harsh sentences.
