Guns Out for anti-Mnangagwa war veterans as ZANU PF fights intensify… PICS

A Zanu PF faction loyal to President Emmerson Mnangagwa has come out guns blazing against a group of war veterans that has been calling for the Zimbabwe leader to step down, blaming him for the woes currently bedeviling the country.
Led by Blessed Gezi, the war veterans have been hogging the limelight for atypical reasons, in recent weeks, after they publicly spewed vitriol on Mnangagwa, accusing him of disrespecting the Constitution of Zimbabwe by intending to extend his term beyond 2028.

As the intraparty frictions continue unabated, the ZANU PF Harare Youth league held its provincial inter district meeting Saturday afternoon where the party’s Deputy Secretary for Youth Affairs in the Politburo, John Paradza, was the guest of honour.
Paradza used the meeting as a platform to underscore the youths’ support for Mnangagwa who is reportedly involved in a fierce fight with a faction said to be aligned to his deputy, General (Rtd) Constantino Chiwenga.
In the Midlands, where Mnangagwa comes from, Zanu PF provincial chairperson Edson Chiherenge took a swipe at Gezi and led chants of ‘Pasi naGezi’ (Down with Gezi) to express their disapproval of the dissenting war vets.

Chiherenge said “Gezi’s actions are no different from those of Chamisa or Kasukuwere, both of whom have historically sought to disrupt the party’s cohesion for their personal agendas.”
