MISS ZIMBABWE PAGEANT|| Search for nation’s Beauty Queen begins

Organisers of the Miss Universe Zimbabwe (MUZ) beauty pageant have announced that registration for possible contestants vying for the coveted prize has now commenced.
MUZ logistics director Alison Makusha told state media that they are buoyed by the success of reigning Miss Universe Zimbabwe, Sakhile Dube, who represented the country well at last year’s international pageant.

Makusha also revealed that registration is available both physically and online.
The registration will close on April 12, 2025.
According to Makusha, aspiring and qualified models must be at least 18 years old, with auditions set to begin in March.
She also added that the calendar for the national pageant has been released with some aspiring models undergoing registration processes.
For the Miss Universe pageant, Makusha said, there is no age limitations for aspiring models.
“We’re following the regulations of the Miss Universe global pageant, which has no age limit. However, as a board, we will determine the appropriate range for our competition,” said Makusha.
She further quipped that divorced, married and unmarried women, including those with children, are also welcome to participate.
The event organisers say they decided to start scouting for prospective models much earlier earlier to allow sufficient preparation time for the winner ahead of the international stage.
Makusha announced that the auditions will take place from March 29 to April 12 in various cities, which include Masvingo, Mutare and Harare.
“The top 12 finalists will be unveiled on April 26, after which they will enter a boot camp in preparation for the finale the following month. The prestigious event will return to Hippodrome (Harare), with hosts to be announced soon,” she announced.
After the national finals, the winner will go on to represent Zimbabwe on the global stage at a venue and country to be announced.
And, in an outstanding performance that attracted attention, Sakhile Dube finished in the top 30 at the Miss Universe pageant in Mexico.
Victoria Kjær Theilvig, a Danish dancer, made history at the 2024 edition of Miss Universe after she became the first Dane to win the competition.
At the same event, Nigerian beauty queen Chidimma Adetshina was named first runner-up, while Mexico’s Maria Fernanda Beltran secured third place.
