Cape Town Woman Stabs Boyfriend After Heated Jealousy-Fueled Fight

Residents of Witsand kasi in Atlantis, Cape Town, were left in shock after a woman allegedly stabbed her boyfriend following a heated argument on Sunday, 2 February.

According to witnesses, the woman, who is from Du Noon, had visited her boyfriend for the weekend on Friday, 31 January. However, tensions flared the next day when the man received a phone call from another woman, sparking a jealous confrontation. Although the argument initially subsided, things took a violent turn when the boyfriend returned home from work on Sunday to find his girlfriend heavily intoxicated.

“The moment he walked in, she brought up the phone call again,” said resident Sinazo Phaliso. “She got furious, started smashing things in the house, and even destroyed his TV.”

The boyfriend tried to defuse the situation by stepping outside, but when he returned to stop the destruction, the woman allegedly locked the burglar door, trapping him inside.

“She then broke a glass bottle, creating a sharp weapon, and stabbed him multiple times on his face and ribs,” a neighbor claimed. “He had no way to escape, and if residents hadn’t broken the burglar door to intervene, he could have been killed.”

Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed that officers arrived after the victim had already been taken to a medical facility for treatment.

The incident has left the community reeling, as residents express shock over the brutal attack.
