Kalisto Pasuwa appointed Substantive Head Coach for Malawi national team

Experienced Zimbabwean football coach, Kalisto Pasuwa, is the new head coach for Malawi’s national men’s football team- affectionately known as The Flames.
The former Dynamos gaffer has been coaching The Flames on an interim basis since November last year, prior to his substantive appointment.
The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) announced in a statement that Pasuwa has signed a two-year contract that runs until 2027.
“We are excited to have Kalisto Pasuwa join the Malawi Football family. His experience and success in African football, especially with Nyasa Big Bullets, will be invaluable as he takes charge of the Flames for the next two years,” a spokesperson from FAM said in the statement.
Manabundu, as Pasuwa is affectionately known in soccer circles, has previously achieved great success as head coach of Nyasa Bullets, a top club in Malawi.
He left Nyasa Bullets in December 2024.
