Husband Steals From Wife To Fund Love Child’s Funeral

Elliot Maruye appeared before Harare Civil Court this week following shocking revelations that he liquidated $210 of marital assets along with their refrigerator, television, and solar battery system. The funds were reportedly used to bury his secret love child who recently passed away.

“I found myself with no alternatives,” Maruye confessed to the court. “The thought of my child receiving an undignified burial was unbearable. I fully acknowledge my wrongdoing.”

Wife Discovers Heartbreaking Betrayal

Sirena Mutisi, Maruye’s legal wife, testified that she initially assumed missing household items were being repaired. The truth emerged when she overheard a phone conversation about funeral arrangements.

“When I confronted him about the missing money and appliances, he admitted everything,” Mutisi recounted. “To learn he prioritized his secret family over our household needs destroyed me emotionally and financially.”

The devastated wife described her current predicament: “I’m now left penniless, struggling to afford basic groceries because my husband chose to support his other family in our time of need.”

Court Grants Protection Order To Wife

Presiding Magistrate Meenal Narotam ruled in Mutisi’s favour, issuing a protection order against Maruye. The magistrate sternly advised the defendant to cease actions damaging his marriage.

Court observers noted Maruye’s behaviour reportedly turned aggressive following the death of his illegitimate child, adding further strain to the already fractured relationship.
