Zimdancehall hitmaker Enzo Ishall got a rude awakening in the just-ended Zanu-PF primary elections.

The Magate chanter who is known for churning out chart-topping hits could not translate his popularity as a musician into political success.

The Zimdancehall musician threw his hat into the ring and contested in the Zanu-PF primary elections held over the weekend under his real name Kudzanai Mamhare.

The Ehe singer was unable to secure a nomination as a Zanu-PF candidate for Sunningdale in the forthcoming elections.

Enzo Ishall amassed 7 votes out of 1,385 in Sunningdale. He has become the butt of jokes on social media with Zimbabweans on various platforms now referring to him as 007.

Enzo Ishall was gracious in the face of defeat and took to his official Instagram account where he shared a video featuring the iconic Batman villain, Joker, applauding and a silhouette of the legendary James Bond, bearing the codename 007.

Sandra Ndebele To Represent Zanu-PF In 2023 Elections

Enzo Ishall is not the only musician who contested in Zanu-PF’s primary elections.

Multi-talented musician Sandra Ndebele-Sibindi will represent Zanu-PF in the forthcoming elections. She will be hoping the electorate in Bulawayo’s Ward 20 will vote for her to become their councillor.
