Arthur Zwane reflects big concern for Chiefs

KAIZER CHIEFS STRUGGLE FOR SIGNINGS?
Following season number eight without a taste of trophy success, all eyes will be on what the Glamour Boys will do in the upcoming transfer window.

In the meantime, coach Zwane has suggested it will be difficult to get deals done and dusted. The former winger added to say the situation has also forced Chiefs to produce their own players from the Naturena academy.

“If the quality is available, then we’ll go for it,” Zwane said as quoted by iDiskiTimes’ David Kappel.

“It’s always been a difficult situation for the club, whenever we look for a player, when we approach other teams, then they make it difficult for us to get the player because obviously the competition is very, very stiff.

“So yeah, we just have to find a way to help players and one of the reasons we ended up resorting to the development was because of that.

“We didn’t want to rely more on what other teams can give us when we want those players.

“We also wanted to help our youngsters from the development to get the opportunity to play of which most of them when they were given the opportunity I think they exerted themselves and they will grow from here,” the Chiefs tactician added.

AMAKHOSI LEGEND NEIL TOVEY QUESTIONS THE FANS, CLUB, AND PLAYERS
Meanwhile, former Chiefs captain Neil Tovey has posed some rather thought-provoking questions after fans attacked coach Zwane during the Rustenburg shame.

According to the legend, the event was a disgrace. However, it has left Chiefs fans and management with a few ideas to ponder on.

“What happened to Arthur was obviously disappointing and I’m not condoning the bad behaviour at all but the Chiefs fans have been frustrated for a long time,” Tovey told SowetanLIVE.

“The club’s slogan is ‘Love and Peace’ but the fans are fed up and the club needs to address the situation.

“The problem can’t be around the professionalism of the club because Chiefs are totally professional, so where they are lacking is the quality of players or the technical side or both.

“I don’t know if the current players realise how big the club has been because certainly in their era they haven’t won anything. In the past, Chiefs would have had six or seven players in the national squad and how many do they have now?
