MaMkhize Royal AM Players Go For Three Months Without Salary

Popular reality TV personality and entrepreneur Shauwn ‘Mamkhize’ Mkhize is going through a difficult time as the owner of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) team, Royal AM.

According to reports, the club is struggling to pay its football players their outstanding fees from February this year.

The situation worsened when news came out that the players of Royal AM nearly refused to attend their training session on Wednesday due to the non-payment of their signing-on fees.

At the time of writing, the club had arranged an emergency meeting at 5 pm to address the issue. However, the Royal AM management has taken a hardline stance and threatened to take disciplinary action against the players who participated in the almost-boycott.

They referred to the players’ actions as severe misconduct and demanded each player to respond individually on WhatsApp, stating whether they took part in the “unlawful strike” that disrupted the training schedule.

“Good Day Team, you are cordially invited into the meeting with the GM and management. All players who are part of the unauthorised strike/meeting or boycott please note that the Club view your conduct as a serious misconduct. You know the procedures relating to asking a meeting with the management. Can All players respond individually through my WhatsApp to state they are part of unlawful strike that delayed us from training at our normal time,” the memo sent on WhatsApp by Royal AM management reads.

Mzansi Drags Mamkhize After Royal AM Players Go Unpaid

The future of Royal AM remains uncertain, with Mamkhize’s reputation at risk as South Africans react negatively to the news of the club’s financial struggles.

People on social media expressed their disappointment and called for better leadership and professionalism in managing the team.

Below are some of the reactions:

@TheSpeaker____:

To see the legacy of Bloemfontein Celtic dragged down the drain like this is heartaching,. people of Mangaung cried for their beloved Green&White army to be saved. Look were we are, RA always in the news for bad

@Jonamokw:

Look at how the Motsepe Boy is running sundowns professionally and how he is upholding himself at private life..vs this royal am joke. It goes to show how a family / business operates.

@ComradesFinisha:

If this is true, the lack of professionalism in that message sums up the kind of management we have been witnessing at RAM games. This club needs leadership

@Mokone40:

The owners of that team are a joke. They busy flaunting their expensive toys but fails to pay players’ dues.
