Sharing Mai TT’s raw images could land you 5 years in prison

A concerned lawyer has taken the initiative to warn her fellow Zimbabweans about the dangers of sharing explicit images of Mai Tt.

Provocative photographs of Mai Tt in her natural condition, as well as a video thought to be of her body parts, went viral on the internet, sending the residents of the teapot-shaped country into a frenzy.

People in Zimbabwe quickly began spreading these exposing photographs of Mai Tt, with many eagerly demanding them for their own viewing pleasure.

However, Nompilo Simanje has sounded the alarm, warning that partaking in the dissemination of Mai Tt’s pictures could land one in serious trouble.

Taking to Twitter, Simanje issued a stern caution to her fellow Zimbabweans, emphasizing that sharing the pictures may result in imprisonment.

“For my fellow Zimbabweans- I understand there are some nude pictures circulating that belong to one social media influencer- just flagging that we do have a law that prohibits the transmission of intimate images without consent . This includes all those distributing as well,” Simanje warned Zimbabweans on Twitter.

Simanje provided evidence in the form of a screenshot of the law, which clearly states that individuals may face up to five years of imprisonment for merely sharing such pictures.

Section 164E on the Transmission of intimate images without consent reads:

(1) Any person who unlawfully and intentionally by means of a computer or information system makes available, broadcasts or distributes a data message containing any intimate image or video of an identifiable person without the consent of the person concerned or with recklessness as to the lack of consent of the person concerned, with the aim of causing the humiliation or embarrassment of such person shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding level 10 or to imprisonment for a period not exceeding five years or to both such fine and such imprisonment”.

(2) For the purposes of subsection (1) “intimate image” means a visual depiction of a person made by any means in which the person is nude, the genitalia or naked female breasts are exposed or sexual acts are displayed.

In simpler terms, sharing Mai Tt’s explicit pictures without her consent can lead to severe legal repercussions under Zimbabwean law.
