In an unexpected sequence of circumstances, a prophet from Marange perished before his time while attempting to fight the demonic forces of Satanism.
The prominent spiritual leader Resai Masaka reportedly died after failing to destroy a cache of cursed occult jewellery seized from a teenager in Mutare’s Dangamvura suburb.
The unfortunate tragedy has left the neighbourhood puzzled and seeking explanations.
According to The Manica Post, Rutendo Masaka reported that her husband had taken a necklace and a watch from an unidentified teenager who claimed they were gifts from her boyfriend. Surprisingly, the jewellery was allegedly intended for a wicked purpose: to plan the murder of the teenager’s parents.
Neighbours and acquaintances expressed their suspicions, suggesting that greediness may have played a role in Masaka’s demise. Sheila Kamutanho, a concerned neighbour, voiced her opinion, saying, “He should not have spent a single night with such things. Even after discovering that the jewellery was producing weird sounds, he still kept it and endangered his family’s lives in the process.”
The circumstances surrounding Masaka’s death became even more perplexing when Madzibaba Skylodge, a spiritual counsellor consulted by the family, offered a different explanation. According to Madzibaba Skylodge, Masaka’s demise was not the result of the cursed jewellery but rather an avenging spirit seeking justice for a long-hidden crime.
“The spirit told me that even though he had Satanism ornaments in his possession, his death was a result of an avenging spirit of a man who was killed at their homestead a long time ago,” Madzibaba Skylodge revealed.
He further explained that appeasing the avenging spirit required specific rituals involving a cow, white and green cloths, and a plate to be conducted at a nearby river.
As the community grapples with the tragic loss of Resai Masaka, questions linger regarding the true nature of his untimely death. Was it the supernatural consequences of confronting Satanic forces or a long-forgotten crime seeking retribution?
