Leaked Whatsapp Message A Huge Blow For Chamisa

Citizen’s Coalition for Change Nelson Chamisa’s claim to possessing all the V11 forms gathered in the just-ended Presidential elections fell flat after leaked Whatsapp messages revealed an otherwise different picture.

Nelson Chamisa is now urgently pleading with “whoever” has access to MPs for help in completing his V11 data set, three days after asserting that he already possessed all V11s.

Jonathan Moyo shared the leaked WhatsApp message. It states,

Hon Timba Forwarded:

Whoever has access to all the MPs, please tell them to bring ALL V11s, V23Bs, and V23As (ward level). Not enough emphasis has been placed on V23As in my view. We need all these docs to complete our data set.

A senior leader of the Citizen Coalition for Change (CCC) party reportedly made a startling admission regarding the party’s lack of V11s and V23s from the polling locations used by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) in the most recent Harmonised Elections in another social media post that Moyo shared.

The V11 and V23B forms, which purportedly showed different results from those used by ZEC to declare President Emmerson Mnangagwa the victor, were supposedly in the possession of the CCC, according to Nelson Chamisa, the party’s leader.

However, the top CCC official’s leaked WhatsApp chat contradicts Chamisa’s claims and casts doubt on the party’s position.

According to the message, there were no V11s or V23s in 2018 because many polling places lacked polling agents.

"Chamisa Asserts: ED's Governance Excludes Any Possibility of Rigging!"

The CCC supposedly recognized this issue and implemented measures to establish branches at all polling stations for the 2023 elections.

The WhatsApp message reveals that the CCC decided to abandon the polling station-based branches in January 2022, effectively nullifying their efforts to secure V11s and V23s for the 2023 elections.

The official acknowledges that this setback puts them in a similar position to that of 2018, and suggests that the ruling party, ZANU PF, is aware of this vulnerability.

The message concludes by dismissing any claims to the contrary as intended for internal purposes only.

Zimbabwean police have blocked the official start of the main opposition party's election campaign, which was scheduled for Sunday, in the latest crackdown on the president's biggest competitor ahead of the presidential and parliamentary elections in August, claiming venue problems.:

The message reads

There were no V11s and no V23s in 2018 because we didn’t have polling agents in many many polling stations.

We recognised this at the Gwelu Congress and adopted the polling station-based branches to ensure that by 2023 we would have branches at ALL polling stations so that through those branches we would have polling agents at all the polling stations.

In or about January 2022 we jettisoned and abandoned all structures including the polling station-based branches already formed and to be formed and hence destroyed the “vaccine” we thought we had created for the lack of V11s and V23s we had experienced in 2018.

Because of this, the fact is that in 2023 we are back to 2018 and ZANU PF knows it. Anything you hear to the contrary is for internal obvious purposes.
