Handivhotere benzi: Magistrate releases Lorraine Guyo

After Lorraine Guyo was humiliatingly arrested this morning, the State abruptly changed course in the case and released her.

The comedian, entrepreneur, and social media star was detained earlier today and charged with fraud. According to a report from H-Metro, after allegedly selling off a car, she sent chiselled bouncers to aggressively repossess the vehicle.

Lorraine Guyo made an appearance at the Harare Magistrates Court dressed elegantly and stylishly in a lemon green slack costume, a white top, and heels with nicely styled hair.

Because there was insufficient evidence to proceed with a prosecution, the State decided not to bring charges against her. The State then freed Guyo and returned the controversial vehicle to her.

Social media had been abuzz with insinuations that she was arrested after making a cryptic message on social media saying ‘handivhoteri benzi (I don’t vote for a mad person’).

According to ZimCelebs reported that Lorraine Guyo sold a car, and the person failed to pay in full. She was left with no option but to repossess it.

The aggrieved client reported the matter at Avondale Police Station yesterday, leading to Lorraine Guyo’s arrest and detention.

Lorraine Guyo then made an initial appearance at the Harare Magistrates Court this morning, and the case was swiftly dismissed during vetting.

The complainant was directed to the Harare Civil Court because Lolo did not commit fraud. The State pointed out that this was a civil matter because he failed to pay for the car.

Lorraine Guyo has since been given back the car until the matter is resolved.
