Rising SA musician Shebeshxt hits fan with bottle

Rising South African musician Katlego Chauke Shebe, also known as Shebeshxt made history as Podcast & Chill’s first-ever guest to reach a million views in a matter of two days, however, his achievement has prompted an X (formally known as Twitter) user to put him on blast after seeing him in a video deliberately hitting a fan with a glass bottle during one of his gigs.

Following reaching their first million subscribers earlier this year, on 18 November, Podcast & Chill announced another historic moment after Shebeshxt made his appearance in the podcast.

“Ladies and Gentlemen We’ve unlocked another HISTORIC MOMENT on #podcastandchilll. Shebeshxt episode hit 1 million views in 2 DAYS. We’d like to thank Shebeshxts team and fans for making this possible and we’d love to thank the chillers,” the announcement read.

According to Kaya FM, the Limpopo-born musician made his breakthrough in 2021 with the single titled Kedi Hit Malume. The song also amassed over a million plays on several digital music platforms. However, Shebeshxt’s stardom reportedly drew a great deal of curiosity on social media when he bravely admitted his involvement in a life of crime.

An X user has since taken to social media and posted a video of the musician blatantly hitting a fan with a glass bottle mid-show. Social media users were curious to know when the video was taken. While some argued that it was an old clip and didn’t need to be resurfaced, others claimed the video was allegedly taken recently.

According to Sunday World, earlier this year, the NPA spokesperson in Limpopo, Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi shared that Shebeshxt had appeared at the Lebwakgomo Magistrate’s Court for two counts of assault, malicious damage to property, and attempted murder.

In another matter, the musician was also previously reportedly charged with two counts of discharging a firearm in a built-up area or public place. And, in both instances, the matters were postponed for further investigation.
