A man from  Harare who stole $195 000 from Mohamed Mussa has been apprehended by the police while spending part of the money on lobola.

Chamunorwa Muvhuti, who works as a merchandiser for Mohamed Mussa, was arrested in Pfungwe, where he was marrying his lover among family. The police arrested the man during the lobola ceremony, surprising many people.

Chamunorwa appeared before the Harare magistrate, where he pleaded guilty to theft. He was then remanded to custody to wait for his sentencing. Muvhuti said he stole the money because he was not paid well at his job.

On the 21st of December, Chamunorwa Phineas Moyo and Jeremiah Kwenda planned to steal from Mohamed Mussa. Muvhuti hid inside the shop and was locked inside while other workers went home.

He broke the safe using a metal object and took $ 195,000 in cash. The complainant discovered the crime and reported it to the police the next day. The other two accomplices were arrested before Chamunorwa Muvhuti until Christmas day when the police arrested him in Mupande Village, where he was paying lobola at his inlaws.
