Comedian Leon ‘Mr Bones’ Schuster has another surgery

Comedian Leon Schuster recently revealed that he is not doing well after a second surgery.

He fell at his home while still recovering from the first surgery, which he underwent in August 2023.

The first surgery was needed after he fell from a van and injured himself while filming ‘Mr Bones 3’.

After the surgery, the 72-year-old entertainer had to undergo extensive physiotherapy to learn how to walk again. Unfortunately, his recovery suffered a major setback after he fell again. Schuster discussed his situation in an interview with YOU.

“I’ve been through a rough patch, man, through absolute hell. I’m a bit depressed. This thing has been going on too long – it’s almost 10 months since my first back surgery,” he said.

He told the publication that the second fall happened after he woke up confused and didn’t know where he was.

“I got up, wet my pants, stepped in the urine and fell on my back. Then I felt tremendous pain. I felt as if they could cut off my back and give the bones to the dogs. I just lay there and screamed.

“I’m not in a good place, but I’m in a grateful place. And that’s why I try to lie here in a straight position and keep my spirits up with a bit of light-heartedness,” he was quoted saying.

According to the publication, Schuster is scheduled to undergo another operation, but first, he has to lose 15kg to ensure that he doesn’t suffer more complications.

“The doctor told me he can only take away 50% of my pain. It’s a very delicate operation and if any mistake is made, it can have severe consequences. Now I lie awake worrying whether I’ll survive, whether I’ll make it,” he told YOU.
