Whatsapp To Stop Working On These Samsung Phones Next Week

Have you ever used a Samsung smartphone that is more than eight years old? Well, there may be very few people in the world who use such old devices. But if you do, there’s some bad news if you use WhatsApp. WhatsApp will most likely discontinue support for a number of old Samsung phones.

The company may soon discontinue support for Android smartphones running less than Android 5.0. (Lollipop). These devices include seven Samsung smartphones released in 2011, 2012, and 2013. The devices include the Galaxy S2, Galaxy S3 Mini, Galaxy Core, and Galaxy Ace 2. The complete list is available below.

  1. Samsung Galaxy Ace 2
  2. Samsung Galaxy Core
  3. Samsung Galaxy S2
  4. Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini
  5. Samsung Galaxy Trend II
  6. Samsung Galaxy Trend Lite
  7. Samsung Galaxy Xcover 2

All these devices were updated to Android 4.x, which was their last major Android OS update. So, WhatsApp will stop working on these phones after December 31, 2022. If you are using any of these devices, you need to get a newer phone that’s running at least Android 5.0, but for the long run, we advise you to buy a phone that is running Android 12 or Android 13 already.

The list of devices that will no longer support WhatsApp includes 42 other smartphones, including the ones from Apple, Archos, Grand, HTC, Huawei, Lenovo, LG, Memoi, Sony, and Wiko.-Sammobile
